Transitioning to an assisted living home can be challenging. As you prepare for your move, The Gables at Spring Lake Assisted Living team makes it easier by offering insight into what to bring. Our goal throughout the process is to ensure you feel comfortable without being overburdened with unnecessary items. We encourage all residents to transform their apartment into a home. When you begin packing, be sure to have these recommended, and some mandatory, items.

Packing List for The Gables at Spring Lake:

Furniture

Dressers, TV stands, couches, and tables to personalize your room. Check that your furniture fits your new space.

Small Appliances

A coffee maker, toaster, and microwave for daily convenience.

Mattress Pads

A good pad protects your bed and adds comfort. Consider one with waterproof layering.

Pictures and Keepsakes

Cherished memories and meaningful mementos create a sense of familiarity.

Television and Radio

Keep connected to your favorite shows, music, and news.

Lights and Clocks

Bedside lamps or desk lights for a cozy ambiance, and an easy-to-read clock.

Two Sets of Linens

An extra set of sheets and pillowcases so a clean set is always ready.

Bath Towels and Washcloths

Multiple towels and washcloths for regular use.

Shower Curtain, Rug, and Non-Slip Bath Mat

For safety and comfort in the bathroom.

Dishes and Silverware

To personalize your at-home dining when not eating in our dining hall.

Laundry Basket

A clearly labeled basket helps ensure your laundry is handled without issue.

Toiletries

Familiar toothpaste, soaps, and personal care items.

Medication

Pack and organize all medications, along with your medication organizer.

Three meals a day are provided, but snacks are good to have on hand.
